This event highlights progress on national cooling action plans (NCAPs) in the MENA region. NCAPs are an important policy tool that national governments have at their disposal to accelerate the uptake of sustainable cooling technologies and mitigate GHG emissions from the cooling sector. NCAPs provide a holistic strategy to tackling both direct and indirect emissions from the cooling sector by focusing on the refrigerant transition, energy efficiency, and financing options. As more countries introduce NCAPs, the question of implementation and of financing measures becomes of increasing importance to both public and private sector actors. The event brings together these actors to describe the NCAP process from drafting to implementation.
