The small-scale projects are aligned with the objectives of the Regional Climate Partnership between Germany and the Western Balkans, aiming to assist the WB in adhering to EU climate targets, including implementing the EU Green Agenda and meeting the commitments outlined in the Paris Agreement. The Germia Park solar park initiative is one among ten small-scale projects implemented under the "EU4 Energy transition: Covenant of Mayors in the Western Balkans and Türkiye." This endeavour is jointly funded by the European Union and Germany and managed by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in the Western Balkans. Support for the Germia Park project also comes from the Municipality of Pristina, in cooperation with the Association of Kosovo Municipalities (AKM).
