Rachele Bhoyroo serves as Communication and Advocacy Coordinator at Eco-Sud, one of Mauritius’ leading environmental NGOs. Through her work, she has helped connect environmental conservation with citizen engagement, social justice and community resilience - from marine conservation and environmental advocacy to agroecology and grassroots awareness initiatives.
In this episode, we explore how effective communication can inspire collective action, why community voices matter in conservation, and how citizens, institutions and young people can work together to protect Mauritius’ fragile ecosystems in the face of growing environmental challenges.
Island Voices for Nature is a production of the UNDP Mauritius and Seychelles Multi-Country. The podcast series brings together environmental advocates, scientists, conservationists, policymakers, youth leaders and sustainability champions to discuss the present and future of our islands. Together, we explore climate resilience, ocean governance, biodiversity conservation, sustainable development and the human connection to nature.
