Confiscated elephant tusks show the cost of poaching
Just two days before this video was filmed, these elephant tusks were confiscated as part of ongoing efforts to stop poaching in Uganda.
Speaking on the ground, IFAW’s Moses Olinga explains what seizures like this represent — not just illegal wildlife products, but elephants lost to the ivory trade. Each tusk is a reminder of the urgent need to protect elephants and support the people working to stop wildlife crime.
Through partnerships, enforcement, and community action, IFAW is helping strengthen the fight against poaching and the illegal wildlife trade. Because protecting elephants means stopping ivory from ever entering the market.
