Connected Communities: Expanding Digital Opportunities in Rural Chile

Across rural regions of Chile, the “Connected Communities” (Comunidades Conectadas) initiative is expanding access to connectivity, digital tools and skills for communities that risk being left behind. Supported by the Joint SDG Fund and led by the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Chile, the initiative brings together FAO, PAHO/WHO, UN Women, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and ECLAC to advance inclusive digital transformation. By strengthening connectivity and digital capacities, the programme is helping women, youth and rural communities access services, develop new opportunities and build more resilient futures.
