Four Days, One Shared Responsibility: Advancing Global Migration Cooperation
At the International Migration Review Forum in New York, Member States came together to assess progress on the Global Compact for Migration, reflect on remaining gaps, and reaffirm a shared commitment to safe, orderly and regular migration.
For IOM Regional Director for West and Central Africa, Sylvia Ekra, one message stood out: migration governance can only succeed when cooperation goes beyond borders, beyond institutions, and beyond declarations.
The forum may have concluded, but the responsibility it carries extends far beyond the IMRF: translating global dialogue into concrete action through policies, partnerships, and tangible impact in the lives of people on the move.
