Source-to-Sea Cooperation: Practical Guidance for Implementation in Transboundary Basins
Source‑to‑sea management is gaining global momentum as countries and institutions recognize that land, freshwater, coastal and marine ecosystems can only be effectively governed when managed as an interconnected whole. Yet applying this approach in transboundary settings — where jurisdictions, mandates and sectoral priorities intersect — requires both strong cooperation frameworks and practical tools for implementation.
This webinar brings together two new guidance publications, developed independently by the UN Water Convention and IW:LEARN, to offer a comprehensive, complementary toolkit for strengthening source‑to‑sea cooperation in transboundary basins. Presented side‑by‑side for the first time, the publications highlight how legal and institutional foundations can be paired with hands‑on project‑level guidance to accelerate real‑world impact.
