Taali Das Flood Devstation - Documentary by Kiran Qasim
Tali Das, a village in Ghizer, was devastated by the August 2025 floods triggered by glacial lake outbursts, a growing climate threat in northern Pakistan. Entire communities were displaced as more than 100 homes were swept away, farmland destroyed, and hundreds forced into temporary shelters. Across Pakistan, the 2025 floods affected millions and caused widespread destruction, exposing the vulnerability of mountain communities to extreme weather and climate change. In Tali Das, families continue to live in tents, struggling to rebuild their lives, while children walk long distances in harsh conditions just to reach school.
This documentary by Kiran Qasim, produced under Frames of Change by Accountability Lab Pakistan in collaboration with Green Media Initiative, captures the human cost of these floods and the resilience of communities navigating loss, displacement, and an uncertain future.
