5 things you need to know about the Sudan/Chad border
Meet Paola Belotti 👋🏽 our Deployable Child Protection in Emergencies Specialist working at the Sudan–Chad border - where over 100 Sudanese refugees arrive every single day.
As the conflict enters its fourth year, over 4 million people have fled Sudan into neighbouring countries like Chad. In these crisis conditions, girls and women face heightened risks of violence, exploitation and forced marriage, often in overcrowded camps with limited services.
Plan International has been working in Eastern Chad since the start of the conflict,
supporting children and families living in camps. From mobile classrooms to child-friendly spaces safe places where children can learn, play, receive psychosocial support and simply be children again.
