More than 1,500 social workers, specialists in domestic violence and victim rehabilitation in the social sector, as well as child protection specialists, are participating in a comprehensive training program on interpersonal communication and the prevention and combating of gender-based violence. The initiative is taking place under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, as part of the joint UNICEF-UNFPA program “Breaking the Cycle of Violence Against Children and Women,” funded by the Government of the United Kingdom.
