Gaza is suffering from famine, as reported earlier in 2025 by the UN's food crisis expert organization IPC. More than half a million Gazans are living in catastrophic conditions marked by starvation and even death. The entire population of the strip is threatened by food shortages. Haneen teaches mathematics at a tent school in Khan Yunis supported by FCA and its partner organization al-Nayzak. In her unique diary entries, the teacher describes how hunger has affected people's lives in the devastated strip.
