From Crisis to Recovery: Strengthening Victim Assistance for Survivors of Explosive Weapons
Survivors of explosive weapons face predictable and long-term harm, yet victim assistance systems often struggle to respond during crises. Drawing lessons from Gaza, Libya, and Ukraine, this side event will explore how victim assistance operates across different stages of conflict and recovery. The side event aims to promote integrated, survivor-centred approaches linking emergency response with long-term inclusion, state, and international commitments. It will engage donors, States, and UN coordination actors working on protection and humanitarian mine action.
