Mine Action as a Peace Building Tool: The Colombian Transitional-Restorative Approach
This event will discuss the progress and challenges of implementing restorative humanitarian mine action (HMA) measures within transitional justice, focusing on the Colombian experience. By addressing land contamination as a conflict-related harm, it will highlight how a One Humanity approach—grounded in collective responsibility and people-centred action—can strengthen coordination and ensure that mine action pillars effectively restore safety and agency to victims and affected communities, contributing to a sustainable recovery in EO-affected territories.
