Deaf Migrant Kenny Begins His Own Journey in Southern Brazil

Between departures and new beginnings, Kenny Rebolledo waits to complete the final procedures for his journey. Documents in hand, he is about to follow a path he has helped many others take before. Born in Ocumare del Tuy, in Venezuela’s Miranda state, Kenny, 38, is deaf and has been active in the deaf community since his teenage years. At 15, he began learning Venezuelan Sign Language (LSV) with the support of a deaf cousin. Within a few years, he was actively participating in community and sports activities.
