LSTM Inaugural Lecture - Professor Eve Worrall

LSTM Inaugural Lecture - Professor Eve Worrall

Professor Eve Worrall's inaugural lecture explored the role economics plays in shaping global health policy, practice and decision-making. Drawing on nearly 30 years of experience as a researcher, consultant, adviser and programme manager, Eve reflected on the people, projects and partnerships that have influenced her approach to health economics and helped define her career. In the lecture, Eve examined how economic evidence can support policy debates, guide resource allocation decisions and contribute to better health outcomes. She shared the methods and approaches she believes are most valuable for understanding complex global health challenges, and highlighted the importance of building the next generation of health economists equipped to work across disciplines and contexts. The lecture also provided an opportunity to celebrate Eve's contribution to global health and her leadership in establishing LSTM's Global Health Economics and Financing Unit, which works with partners across the Global South to strengthen health economics capacity and support evidence-informed decision making.
