Our volunteers in the frontline with mental health support
Effective mental health support plays an important role in the fight against hunger. When an individual experiences trauma – the lasting emotional response that results from living through a distressing event – it can impact their ability to feed and care for themselves and their families.
Meet Rashida, a community volunteer for our Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) program. As part of the community, Rashida visits fellow neighbors in the camp to understand how people are coping or whether they require mental health support.
During this time of a pandemic, our community volunteers like Rashida make sure that mental health support is available for people in need.
