Mothers leading the fight against undernutrition during Covid19
During the COVID19 pandemic, Action Against Hunger Bangladesh had to change its service delivery modality to minimize the risk of infection that may occur during service delivery both at the community and facility level.
For years, Action Against Hunger Bangladesh worked with mothers and community members and mobilized community-level participation for the prevention and early detection of acute malnutrition. During the pandemic, we have seen mothers play a vital role in the fight against undernutrition by identifying early signs of acute malnutrition with a simple tool- the MUAC tape.
This short-film features the story of a Rohingya mother who fights against acute malnutrition during the pandemic. This short-film is produced in coordination with BBC Media Action and funded by the European Union Humanitarian Aid (ECHO).
