Cash Program of Action Against Hunger, Bangladesh

Cash Program of Action Against Hunger, Bangladesh

When a crisis or disaster strikes, many experience trauma and hardship, have lost their families and livelihoods, and had to leave everything behind. Being unable to provide for your family makes the situation even worse, affecting many displaced and disaster-affected families. Being provided with in-kind assistance that does not always meet needs, and needing to sell the goods for a low price, reinforces the dependent and recipient status of disaster-affected families. Cash-based interventions provide an opportunity for families to exercise choice and foster dignity, giving them room to prioritize their basic needs and make decisions on what is best for them and for their family. It provides families who have lost almost everything, with a sense of normality, dignity, and a chance to get back on their feet, being in charge of their life and their next steps. This animation describes the steps that are followed by Action Against Hunger Bangladesh team to ensure the highest level of transparency and accountability.
