Beyond Deadlock on the Korean Peninsula: Pathways for Dialogue and Regional Stability
🔗On Wednesday 15 April 2026, SIPRI hosted a webinar on pathways for dialogue and regional stability on the Korean Peninsula
The event examined the prospects for renewed diplomatic engagement on the Korean Peninsula, including dialogue between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK, North Korea) and the Republic of Korea (South Korea) and between North Korea and the United States. Panellists revisited the idea of a North East Asia regional security dialogue as an alternative platform for risk reduction and broader regional stability. The discussion was followed by an open Q&A session for audience members.
