#Bangladesh: 'The Cleaners Saw So Much Blood'

Victims of State violence are not only those directly injured, or even their close family. 

In #Bangladesh, street cleaners after the lethal crackdown on the July 2024 mass protests saw pools of blood and dead bodies, leaving many deeply traumatised.

Already severely marginalised as so-called 'untouchables', members of this vulnerable group were supported by IRCT member Human Rights Development Centre- (HRDC).

"Nobody highlighted these issues,' said Mahbul Haque, Secretary General of HRDC. 'We provided basic mental health and psychosocial support for them, and they are now caring for other persons."
