Sista D Visits Munyumbwe Clinic: How Clean Water Is Improving Maternal Healthcare | Gwembe, Zambia
How does access to clean water transform healthcare for mothers and communities?
During a visit to Munyumbwe Clinic in Gwembe District, Sista D witnessed how a solar-powered water reticulation system is helping improve healthcare services and access to safe water for patients, families and the wider community.
Reflecting on the visit, she shared:
"What UNICEF is doing, what Plan International is doing, is a step in the right direction. I can imagine the happiness that women giving birth have right now because they have access to clean water."
She added:
"The water reticulation system is amazing."
Reliable access to clean water is strengthening maternal and child healthcare, improving infection prevention and control, and helping communities thrive.
This initiative is supported by UNICEF in partnership with the Government of Zambia and partners.
