2024 EAAFP Ulsan Corporate Champion - Species Champion Leadership Programme

The EAAFP-Ulsan Corporate Champion Programme 2024 highlights the collaboration between the East Asian-Australasian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP), local government, and businesses to promote corporate and community involvement in conservation. Launched after the Ulsan Taewha River (EAAF150) was designated a Flyway Network Site, the initiative saw companies take on the role of Species Champions, advocating for the protection of migratory waterbirds. Leading corporates such as Hyundai Motor Company, S-OIL Corporation, Kyungdong City Gas Co. Ltd., and Korea Petrochemical Ind. Co. Ltd. spearheaded efforts to promote biodiversity and sustainability, while community activities attracted over 100 local registrants. All participants responded to the survey, expressing a desire to re-engage, and the survey results recorded positive feedback on the positive impact of the champions' efforts.
