Paul Farmer's Legacy in Sierra Leone
Today, February 14, 2026, the Maternal Center of Excellence will receive its first patients seeking maternal and newborn healthcare services.
It is a momentous occasion. For years, hundreds of team members from Build Health International have worked in with Partners In Health and the Sierra Leonean Ministry of Health to change disparities into opportunities. The late Dr. Paul Farmer was a champion of this work, and his involvement on the MCOE cannot be overlooked.
Here's to the future, and a new legacy of dignified care.
