Writing Ethiopia into the World and Writing the World from Ethiopia | EWNET Webinar

How has Ethiopia been written into global knowledge, and how have Ethiopian thinkers and rulers written the world from Ethiopia? In this public lecture, Christopher Clapham reflects on the role of foreign and Ethiopian scholars in shaping knowledge about Ethiopia, and on how Ethiopian intellectuals and political leaders have historically engaged with ideas and models beyond Ethiopia to shape trajectories of modernization. The session was moderated by Dr Asnake Kefale, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science and International Relations, Addis Ababa University. This webinar is an output of the Ethiopian Women Researchers Network (EWNET), an initiative that supports women scholars through research training, writing, and intellectual exchange.
