Last month, we hosted Responding to LGBT Hate Crime in Southern Africa – Legislative Options and Perspectives, a hate crimes convening with LGBTI Sey to protect and advance the rights of LGBT+ people in Southern Africa.

Participants from 11 Southern African countries assembled to consider the need for hate crimes law in their home countries, different models of hate crimes legislation, and the challenges of implementation and enforcement.
