Chefs in the Schools

Go behind the scenes with Wellness in the school at The Anderson School’s kitchen in Manhattan, NYC, with Dalia David of Chefs’ Manifesto, WITS Chef Camillo Sabella, and the NYC School Food Team. Did you know that NYC public school menus feature recipes like White Bean and Pasta Primavera, Kidney Bean Rajma, Kachumber Salad, and Jollof Cauliflower? Wellness in the school is a national nonprofit organization working with NYC Schools and NYC food bring scratch-cooked, plant-based, and culturally relevant recipes like these to the lunch menu for all one MILLION public school children in NYC! This program is called Chefs in the Schools. In honor of this day, WITS teamed up with the Chefs' Manifesto and the #BeansisHow campaign to celebrate all of the school cooks preparing this nutritious food and talk to students who are tasting and loving it.
