Agricultural Data Infrastructures as Key enablers webinar
The Digital Agriculture (D4Ag) Sector in LMICs is developing rapidly as witnessed in numerous landscape analyses and evaluations and tracked consistently by the Digital Agri Hub. For sustained growth of the sector more is needed, as recently discussed on the D4Ag-DGroup linked to data sharing facilities and data governance. In these discussions, the good news was that building blocks are available, being the D4Ag solution providers, laws and regulations on data governance, national maps and databases, while the bad news is that these remain large and disconnected and therefore difficult to scale. Visions on Agricultural Data Infrastructures connect these building blocks into an integrated whole that really empowers farmers, D4Ag solution providers, private sector actors and policymakers. But, how to realise these visions? Is that a public or private sector initiative? What is the business case?
The Agricultural Data Infrastructures webinar hosted by the Digital Agri Hub, in collaboration with The Commonwealth Secretariat, FAO and CGIAR, Digital Initiative unpacked on these and more questions.
