Webinar_From Silos to Systems: NAgDI as a Delivery Approach to DPI in Agriculture
According to the World Bank, DPI is an approach to digitalisation that is focused on creating foundational digital building blocks designed for the public benefit (World Bank, 2025) with examples as digital identity and electronic signatures, digital payments and data sharing. Within the agricultural sector, data is seen as the rail on which digitalisation runs. Since 2023, the Commonwealth Secretariat through the Commonwealth Connectivity Agenda for Trade and Investment (CCA) has been exploring the role of national data spaces as a foundation for intra-Commonwealth trade and investment.
This webinar will introduce the concept of foundational DPI, its implications for the agricultural sector, and the consultative approach used by the Commonwealth Secretariat in developing the concepts of the National Agricultural Data Infrastructure (NAgDI). The webinar will conclude by launching a 4-week long eConversations being organised by the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Digital Agri Hub in partnership with AGRA, Farmerline, DIASCA/GIZ and other partners, leading to the official launch of the Policy Guide on NAgDI.
