Senior Windows Automation Engineer, London

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Windows Automation Engineer, you will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain solutions for automated Windows server provisioning and the deployment of Microsoft patches and third-party software, following a gradual deployment strategy.
  • Apply strong knowledge of testing methodologies and software design patterns to ensure quality and maintainability.
  • Design, implement, and maintain solutions to ensure the stability and performance of the Windows infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to validate and refine high-level design documents.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership, autonomy, and accountability in all assigned tasks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across Windows operating systems (from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2025).

We are looking for a candidate who brings:

  • Deep expertise in Microsoft ecosystems.
  • Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to produce clear and structured technical and design documents.
  • Proficiency in core technologies, including:
    • Ansible Automation Platform
    • Terraform
    • Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
    • Windows Server OS
    • Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
    • VMware (Nutanix is a plus)
    • Networking
  • Advanced scripting and automation skills in:
    • Ansible
    • PowerShell
    • PowerCLI / Python / Git
    • Remote development on Linux
    • CI/CD pipelines
  • A background in software engineering or development, especially in:
    • API integration and development
    • Automation frameworks
    • Code quality and testing practices
  • A passion for solving technical challenges while keeping customer needs in focus.
  • A methodical, organized, and proactive approach to work.
  • A growth mindset with a willingness to embrace and share new technologies.
  • Strong team spirit with the ability to work independently when needed.
  • Flexibility and openness to change in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience working in Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and navigate complex situations.
