ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
The QA Lead Test Specialist is responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality, reliability, and operational performance across complex enterprise systems. In this role, you will drive quality strategy, execution, automation, and validation activities across multiple modules in a mission-critical environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead end‑to‑end QA strategy, planning, and execution for product lines and modernization initiatives.
- Create, maintain, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automation suites aligned with system architecture.
- Conduct functional, regression, system, integration, performance, and UAT testing across diverse platform components.
- Ensure full traceability from requirements to validation using enterprise test management tools, governing test requirements, user stories, and test suites across releases.
- Validate new capabilities such as reporting modernization, enhanced alerting, rules engine updates, improved import/export workflows, UI enhancements, and cloud‑native behavior.
- Drive defect analysis, root‑cause diagnostics, and resolution working closely with engineering teams.
- Oversee, coordinate, and mentor distributed QA contributors including offshore testing teams.
- Contribute to or support integration between test management tools and CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Git-based pipelines) to enable continuous validation.
- Assess quality risks and maintain traceability from business/technical requirements to test coverage and sign‑off.
- Ensure adherence to security, data residency, audit logging, performance, and compliance requirements.
- Promote QA best practices, continuous improvement, and a quality‑driven mindset across teams.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
- Significant experience leading QA for complex enterprise or mission‑critical systems (aviation/transportation preferred).
- Strong understanding of system integration, operational data flows, rules engines, reporting ecosystems, and large‑scale transactional platforms.
- Hands‑on proficiency with automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Skilled in API and performance testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, JMeter, Gatling, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with OpenText ALM Octane (or equivalent enterprise test management platforms), including requirements traceability, test suite governance, defect workflows, dashboards, and reporting.
- Experience integrating quality platforms with CI/CD systems (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Experience testing cloud-native platforms and hybrid on-prem/cloud architectures
- Strong debugging and analytical skills with ability to interpret logs, SQL queries, distributed system behavior, and root-cause failures.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
- Comfortable operating in agile, multi‑team delivery environments with parallel projects.
- Highly organized, self‑driven, and capable of owning the QA discipline end‑to‑end.
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Experience with airport or airline operations systems.
- Familiarity with Databricks, Power BI, or reporting ecosystem validation.
- Exposure to rules engines, natural ‑ language configuration, or AI ‑ assisted QA practices.
