Purpose
The Senior Trainer is responsible for the end‑to‑end design, preparation, delivery, and continuous improvement of technical and functional training across SITA Passenger Processing solutions, including Smart Path, Self Bag Drop (SBD), Smart Path Hub (SPH), Passenger Intelligent Insights & Validation (PII/PIJ), Flex On‑Prem, Flex on Cloud, and other biometric‑enabled touchpoints like gates and kiosks.
The role ensures that airport agents, airline staff, L1/L2 support teams, field engineers, system administrators, and customer stakeholders receive high‑quality, consistent, and operationally relevant training to enable successful adoption of SITA systems via both virtual and onsite—leveraging hands-on labs, simulations, and real-world scenarios.
This position plays a key role in project delivery, operations and customer readiness.
What will you do
- Deliver instructor‑led sessions (virtual and on‑site) across multiple audiences—End Users/Agents, L1/L2 support, field engineers, site admins
- Run hands‑on technical training (maintenance, troubleshooting, server/admin components, Smart Path Hub, Gates, kiosks).
- Manage live/lab environments and coordinate with product/Implementation Engineers teams for knowledge transfer (e.g., IPS lab/airport sessions.
- Curriculum Development: Develop, update, and maintain training materials, labs, and documentation aligned with operational standards, SLAs, and industry best practices.
- Knowledge Transfer: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to support knowledge sharing across the team on updates to products. Train teams on hardware/software testing, incident resolution, spares management, and acceptance testing procedures.
- Technical Enablement: Train teams in LAN/WAN troubleshooting, LAN equipment configuration, preventive maintenance and installation guidelines.
- Process & Quality Alignment: Ensure training aligns with SITA standards and customer contract requirements.
- Feedback & Improvement: Collect participant feedback, evaluate training effectiveness, and refine training methods to improve field readiness.
Qualifications
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Industry certifications strongly preferred, such as:
- CompTIA Network+ or Server+
- Cisco CCNA (optional)
- Microsoft MCSA (Client/Server)
- Experience in technical training delivery and or knowledge transfer roles is an advantage.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Deep product knowledge across Self Bag Drop/SPH/Passenger Intelligent Insights and related infrastructure, plus maintenance/troubleshooting expertise
- Strong technical knowledge in LAN/WAN troubleshooting, hardware/software testing, and IT service operations.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple training sessions and deadlines.
- Customer-focused mindset with proven ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting team development.
- Experience in maintaining and supporting SITA solutions is beneficial.
