PURPOSE

Supplier Quality Lead is responsible for ensuring that all suppliers meet the company's quality, compliance, and performance standards. This role oversees supplier quality strategies, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and manages the resolution of supplier-related quality issues. The position is reporting to the head of Manufacturing Procurement and works closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance teams to maintain a robust and reliable supply base.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement the supplier quality management strategy to support organizational goals and product quality requirements.
  • Lead and manage supplier qualifications, onboarding, and periodic re-evaluation processes.
  • Establish and maintain supplier quality metrics, performance dashboards, and regular business reviews.
  • Conduct supplier audits with respect to relevant industry standards (process, system, and product audits) to ensure compliance with internal standards, industry regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), root cause analyses, and process improvement initiatives with suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supplier-related non-conformances and ensure timely containment and corrective measures.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) by evaluating supplier readiness, capability, and process stability.
  • Develop and enforce quality agreements, specifications, and technical documentation with suppliers.
  • Monitor regulatory and industry trends; ensure suppliers align with relevant standards.
  • Build, hire, mentor, and lead a global team of supplier quality engineers and specialists.
  • Identify risks within the supply chain and implement mitigation plans.
  • Foster long-term partnerships with suppliers while maintaining high quality and reliability expectations.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

  • 5-8 years of experience in supplier quality management, manufacturing quality, or related engineering fields.
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., 8D, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, SPC).
  • Hands-on auditing experience and certification (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor) is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage supplier relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a global environment.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain, or a related technical field; master's degree preferred.
