PURPOSE

The Associate Analyst Accounting Operations is responsible for delivering efficient and effective end-to-end accounting services for the area of responsibility in line with the Service Level Agreement. He/she ensures the overall integrity of the sub-ledgers for the area of responsibility in compliance with departmental and accounting policies and procedures. The role resolves all ensuing issues in a timely manner. nThe role maybe responsible for some administrative tasks relating to areas beyond finance which require management as they impact the finance function

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process information completely and accurately in accordance with SLAs
  • Reconcile and provide information to support ledger reconciliation for the area of responsibility
  • Assist in resolving queries with appropriate internal/external contacts and escalate to line manager when necessary
  • Run control statements and report findings to line management as required
  • Provide information for internal and external audits as directed by line management, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Ensure adherence to internal control guidelines and Business Process Blueprints
  • Implement specific departmental projects and process improvement tasks

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE

  • 3 years work experience in an accounting environment preferably within a medium size company;
  • Strong analytical capabilities
  • Ability to multi-task effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professional integrity
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; additional languages are an advantage
  • Ability to apply processes and procedures within the area of responsibility
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in PC applications (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Oracle SUN (or equivalent financial systems) and Hyperion reporting system is desirable

  • College education in Business studies or equivalent
