ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
As a full-stack developer, we need you to focus on the customer (in this case a government) to give them a secure, reliable system. You will be working with a diverse team of like-minded people trained in various other technologies. We work together to deliver valuable software changes efficiently. We use automation to improve our productivity, without sacrificing quality. We use continuous improvement feedback loops to streamline how we develop software.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Learning and integrating new technologies in a cutting-edge environment.
- Write and deliver code for new features. Understand, debug, fix and enhance existing code.
- You will manage your own time, as part of a self-organizing scrum team.
- Follow our coding guidelines, best practices, and all technical processes.
- Help the team estimate the complexity of the technical work that will do.
- Participates in understanding the requirements for designing new applications and system features.
- Assist with documenting and writing deployment scripts for the work you have done, to give truly end-to-end software development.
Qualifications
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS

- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or engineering is essential.
- 3 years of experience as full stack developer.
- Experience of Java, from a Microservices perspective.
- Solid knowledge of Spring, JSON, REST, and APIs; experience of security considerations would be advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of how to write and design object-oriented code. If you have used design patterns that would be advantageous.
- Must be able to understand an API specification and use that knowledge to integrate that functionality into our software.
- Experience of using relational databases from Java: Maria DB or MySQL databases are preferable.
- Experience of Docker, Ansible or Kubernetes, would be advantageous.
- Experience with full stack web development is preferred, (Angular/Apache Webserver/Apache Tomcat/Maria DB is preferred, but any similar stack is useful).
- Knowledge of version control / source code management (GIT preferred).
- Ability to work well as a member of a team.
- Ability to communicate clearly in a multicultural environment.
