Job Purpose

Textile Engineering will play a key role in strengthening the Internal Audit function by providing specialized technical expertise in textile manufacturing processes, product quality, and operational compliance. This position will support the audit team in effectively evaluating risks, internal controls, and regulatory adherence across enterprise operations, with a particular focus on maintaining textile engineering standards and enhancing production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized technical expertise on textile manufacturing processes, including fabric production, dyeing, finishing, weaving, knitting, and embroidery, to support internal audit activities.
  • Evaluate internal controls, operational risks, and compliance within textile production units, and contribute to the development of audit observations with practical, risk-based recommendations.
  • Assess adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and organizational policies across textile and production operations.
  • Review production documentation and operational records to identify gaps, potential risks, and opportunities for improving compliance with regulatory and industry best practices.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to enhance production efficiency, minimize waste, and improve overall product quality.
  • Support management and the internal audit team in implementing corrective actions by assessing technical feasibility and process-related risks.
  • Prepare and maintain technical audit documentation, including working papers, observations, and recommendations related to textile operations.
  • Contribute to audit reports for senior management, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with textile engineering standards.
  • Coordinate with various departments, programs, and enterprise teams to gather relevant information and facilitate the effective execution of the annual audit plan.
  • Collaborate closely with the internal audit team by integrating technical textile insights and providing support through knowledge sharing, training sessions, or workshops as required.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.     

Additional Job Requirements

  • Strong understanding of textile manufacturing processes, including weaving, knitting, dyeing, finishing, and associated machinery, along with knowledge of production standards and operational practices.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., ISO, ASTM) applicable to the textile industry, ensuring compliance across operations.
  • Sound knowledge of operational risk identification and internal control practices within manufacturing environments.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify process gaps, inefficiencies, and operational risks, and to recommend practical improvements.
  • Effective reporting and documentation skills to prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive technical and audit reports.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with auditors, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Word, for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
  • High level of attention to detail, professional integrity, adaptability, and willingness to travel frequently to operational sites while working collaboratively and maintaining accountability in all assessments.

Educational Requirements

Graduate degree, preferably in B.Sc. (Engg.) in Textile Engineering or Textile Technology from a recognized or reputed university. Relevant professional certifications or specialized training in textile manufacturing, quality assurance, or compliance will be considered an added advantage. Professional certifications in quality assurance, process improvement, or related areas are a plus.

Experience Requirements

Minimum two to three years of experience in related field.
