Job Overview

As an Accounting Intern at WBCSD, you will support the finance team by assisting with the annual invoicing cycle, reminders to members, and contributing to the annual financial closing and audit processes. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial operations, while also interacting with external members regarding payment inquiries. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic, sustainability-driven organization, collaborating across teams to enhance financial accountability and member relations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the booking of the vendor invoices
  • Manage onboarding of new vendor
  • Help with the invoicing process of Accounts Receivable
  • Involved in the quarterly and yearly close
  • Involved in various accounting projects

Qualifications, Skills, and Experiences

  • University Degree in Accounting /Finance / Business Administration
  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in a professional environment is preferred but not required.
  • Proactive in seeking opportunities to gain new skills, knowledge, and experiences, and regularly seeks detailed feedback to identify learning needs and improve performance.
  • Proactive in contributing to team success through offering suggestions, volunteering for assignments, and ensuring effective achievement of goals.
  • Good at taking proactive action to accomplish goals, identifying opportunities to assist others beyond their own responsibilities.
  • Good at managing time and resources by handling schedules, prioritizing tasks, and completing them on time with high quality, while staying focused and promptly following up on action items.
  • Effective in maintaining performance during changes in responsibilities or environment by objectively evaluating change and enthusiastically adopting new processes.
  • Clear and articulate in communication across various situations, adapting style to the listener, building credibility, and actively listening. Demonstrates strong written communication skills with correct grammar and punctuation.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; additional languages are an advantage.

The position is full-time for 9 months and is based in Amsterdam.
