CBF Technical Officer CHO-TTO Project Leader, Jamaica

 

About the career opportunity:

The Technical Officer will lead implementation of the Beetham Wastewater Stabilisation Ponds Rehabilitation Project under the CBF GEF 11363 CHO-IP Program, providing technical oversight, project management, procurement support, stakeholder coordination, financial monitoring, M&E leadership and team supervision to ensure timely, high-quality delivery aligned with GEF and UNEP requirements.

Expected Deliverables:

  • Development and maintenance of the annual project work plan
  • Lead procurement processes for consultants and contractors
  • Provide technical guidance on wastewater treatment, pollution mitigation and nature-based solutions
  • Supervise technical studies, designs and pilot interventions
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and social safeguards and ESMS requirements
  • Coordinate stakeholders including PSC, CBF, MPU, SWMCOL and local partners
  • Design and implement the project's M&E framework
  • Lead data collection, analysis and reporting
  • Prepare annual progress, financial and evaluation reports
  • Manage and supervise project team members
  • Coordinate capacity-building activities for project staff and partners
  • Represent the project at national and international meetings and events

Minimum qualifications:

  • Master's degree in environmental management, project management, international development or related field
  • Project management certification (PMP, Prince2)
  • 7-10 years managing large-scale environmental or wastewater projects
  • 5+ years of M&E experience including data analysis
  • Experience with international donors (GEF, UNEP)
  • Experience working within Trinidad and Tobago's policy and institutional context
