The foundation is an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), which supports over 1,000 initiatives in over 30 countries around the world.The Foundation was established by Om Habibeh Mohamed Shah Aga Khan, whose enduring legacy in Aswan reflects a deep and personal commitment to the well-being, dignity, and development of local communities. Her vision continues to guide OHF’s work, anchoring it in compassion, service, and long-term partnership with the people of Aswan.Under the oversight of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, OHF’s core objective is to improve the quality of life of vulnerable and underserved communities through integrated, sustainable development approaches. The Foundation works across key sectors including education, health, economic inclusion, agriculture and food security, civil society strengthening, women’s empowerment, and early childhood development.POSITION OBJECTIVES:The IT Officer is responsible for overseeing and supporting the Foundation’s information technology infrastructure, systems, applications, and IT operations to ensure efficient, secure, and uninterrupted business operations. The role includes managing IT systems implementation, network administration, IT support services, asset management, budgeting, vendor coordination, and user training while ensuring alignment with organizational and global IT standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:IT Planning, Budgeting & Administration
- Prepare and monitor the IT annual budget.
- Ensure effective utilization and control of IT resources and expenditures.
- Prepare Terms of Reference (TORs) and technical specifications for required IT systems, services, and solutions.
- Coordinate with the procurement specialist for IT equipment and supplies in coordination with the Finance Department.
- Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, servers, databases, and network systems.
- Ensure computer networks, databases, and systems are secured, operational, and regularly maintained.
- Execute and monitor system backup, recovery procedures, and routine IT operations.
- Ensure contingency plans, controls, and disaster recovery procedures for IT applications are effective, updated, and operational.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend suitable IT solutions and technologies to meet organizational needs.
- Maintain effective coordination and communication with IT Geneva during the implementation of major projects and initiatives.
- Liaise and follow up with external service providers and vendors.
- Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting assistance to all Foundation staff.
- Resolve IT-related issues across the organization and ensure effective helpdesk support.
- Prepare IT requirements for new employees, including devices, email accounts, IP phones, and mobile lines.
- Manage and maintain IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, network equipment, and related systems.
- Oversee the delivery and performance of Information Technology services across the Foundation.
- Analyze technical issues, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions.
- Continuously assess IT systems and services to identify opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and innovation.
The requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in IT support, systems administration, or network management.
- Experience in managing IT infrastructure, networks, and enterprise applications.
- Experience working with vendors and managing IT procurement processes is preferred.
- Experience in Microsoft 365 environment, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
- Strong knowledge of computer networks, systems administration, and IT security.
- Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train and support users with varying technical abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Service-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
