About the career opportunity:

The CBF BluEFin Technical Officer/Project Lead will manage and coordinate day-to-day implementation of the BluEFin Project, supporting nature-based Blue Economy financing across Caribbean project countries. The role is remote within the Caribbean, reports to the Conservation Finance Programme Manager, and includes project management, technical coordination, procurement oversight, MEL, reporting, communications, and stakeholder engagement.

Expected Deliverables:

  • Support preparation and presentation of reports to the CBF Board of Directors and relevant parties.
  • Coordinate BluEFin project implementation, budgets, procurement planning, and technical inputs.
  • Prepare project implementation plans, work plans, progress reports, operational plans, and financial planning inputs.
  • Review consultant and service provider work plans, reports, deliverables, and administrative arrangements.
  • Monitor project activities, budgets, expenditures, budget revisions, and working budgets.
  • Organize project workshops, events, stakeholder coordination, and technical communications.
  • Lead implementation of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Plan and support Conservation Finance MEL tracking.

Budget:

The salary including benefits are US$49,200.00 annually.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Postgraduate degree in environmental management, environmental sciences, natural resources management, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience working on blue economy issues and in the Caribbean region, or justified equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of sustainable development, including financial and institutional sustainability.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to promote sustainability and environmental awareness among diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including internationally funded projects of similar size and coverage.
  • Experience managing GEF projects, particularly International Waters projects, is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary and/or cross-sector teams.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is required; Spanish is a plus.

  • Understanding of CBF operational requirements, ESMS compliance, donor requirements, and GEF/UNEP reporting.
  • Project communications content development and technical input for website and social media visibility.
