JOB SUMMARY
The Field Compliance Unit is an advisory function having an independent status within International Medical Corps. The Assistant, Field Compliance is a member of the Field Compliance Unit and supports the implementation of compliance activities in countries of operation.
The Assistant supports the preparation and execution of compliance reviews in accordance with the Ethics and Compliance Charter, country work plans, International Medical Corps policies and procedures, and donor regulations. The role assists in maintaining proper documentation, tracking compliance actions, and supporting adherence to compliance and ethics standards.
The Field Compliance Assistant promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout International Medical Corps. As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of International Medical Corps' and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ethics and Compliance Department Overarching Responsibilities
- Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Encourages transparency, communication, and teamwork related to the Ethics and Compliance Charter and its Department objectives.
Core Duties
- Assists with compliance reviews and help identify, document and mitigate compliance risks associated with program and operations activities in accordance with agreed country work plans, as assigned by the supervisor.
- Assists in the preparation of compliance reports with observations and recommendations.
- Supports the tracking of progress against compliance recommendations and agreed action plans.
- Maintains accurate and timely recordkeeping of compliance reviews and related files in shared systems.
Communication
- Proactively communicates results of compliance reviews and identified gaps with the supervisor and supports corrective measures in real-time to avoid non-compliance.
- Follows up with relevant staff to obtain required documentation and information.
- Supports preparation of updates and reports on field compliance activities as needed.
Capacity Building and Training
- Assists in conducting compliance trainings (e.g., Fraud, Bribery, Conflicts of Interest).
- Supports tracking of training participation and maintaining related records.
Other Responsibilities
- Participates in team meetings and supports Field Compliance Unit activities.
- Supports administrative and coordination tasks to facilitate compliance operations.
- Performs any other tasks assigned by the supervisor with the aim of supporting or improving Field Compliance Unit operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Typically, a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, risk management or a related area; or similar. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
- Entry-level position; prior internship or up to 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Experience working in humanitarian relief or with an INGO is an advantage.
- Familiarity with business processes such as Human Resources, Financial Management, Supply Chain, Information Technology or Programs.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
- Detail oriented, with a high degree of ethics, integrity, discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis.
- Strong communication skills, including presentation skills, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with other staff
- Willingness to learn compliance, audit, and risk management processes.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of French or Arabic, or of the local language as required by the duty station, is preferred.
- Ability and willingness to travel to country program locations as needed.
