Mission and objectives:
- The World Health Organization serves as the directing and coordinating authority for public health within the United Nations system. WHO seeks to promote health, ensure everyone can attain the highest level of health, keep the world safe and serve the vulnerable through partnerships, people and countries.

- Global Conference and Training Centre:
- With extensive knowledge of WHO policies and processes, we provide administrative and Logistics support to Technical Units allowing them to concentrate on the technical program content.
Task description:
- The incumbent provides comprehensive support in digital communications, web management, and internal information dissemination for HRP/LHR, ensuring compliance with WHO standards and effective visibility of departmental outputs.
- 1. Digital Content Management
- Develop, update, and maintain HRP/LHR web pages, including web stories, publications, event announcements, photo stories, and opportunities
- Ensure content is up to date, properly formatted, and optimized for mobile and user experience
- Propose improvements to website structure, usability, and searchability
- Maintain consistency with WHO web standards and coordinate with the WHO web team for cross-posting and synchronization
- 2. Social Media and Newsletter Support
- Schedule and publish approved content on HRP social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn and X/Twitter)
- Support the dissemination of the HRP Newsletter using dedicated distribution tools
- Prepare weekly and periodic newsletter submissions and internal communications
- Run monthly analytics on digital platforms and produce reports with insights, trends, and recommendations
- 3. Internal Communication and Visual Support
- Maintain and update departmental SharePoint sites, including calendars, documents, and resources
- Manage the HRP photo library within the WHO Photo Library system
- Prepare internal staff updates and departmental communications via email
- Perform basic graphic design tasks using templates (e.g., flyers, briefing notes, presentations)
- 4. Communication Monitoring and Quality Control
- Monitor generic departmental email inboxes and ensure timely response or redirection of queries
- Receive and process digital inquiries with discretion, prioritizing according to urgency
- Review and edit technical documents to ensure compliance with WHO editorial and publication standards prior to submission
- 5. Coordination and Follow-up
- Use tracking tools to monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of tasks and responses
- Coordinate with internal WHO teams (web, communication, and administrative units) and external partners for information exchange
- Provide support to colleagues and brief staff on WHO and departmental digital communication procedures

Skills and experience:
- Essential
- 3 years of experience in information systems analysis and programming, systems administration and maintenance, software development, technical writing or related area is required, reduced to five for first-level university degree holders.
- Desirable
- Experience in Sitefinity web sites is desirable.
- Experience in user interface and user experience is desirable.
- Relevant experience in WHO or another UN agency an asset.
- Experience in InDesign, Photoshop, and the Adobe Creative Suite
- Other Considerations (e.g., Physical Workplace Conditions if other than normal office environment; IT skills)
- Work requires the use of standard software packages, and office equipment.
- Formal or self-training in the use of standard office software.
- Ability to use InDesign, Photoshop, and the Adobe Creative Suite an asset.
