This internship is part of the Media Freedom Rapid Response
(MFRR), a project funded by the European Union and led by ECPMF.
You will play an active role in supporting our team, with a focus
on organising the annual MFRR Summit and coordinating follow-up
activities, as well as engaging with journalists, experts, and
media organisations across Europe.

full-time (20h or 40h/week)
Allowance: max. 590 Euro (depending on working
hours)
Responsibilities
- Assist the MFRR team in the planning, logistics, and smooth
delivery of the MFRR Summit, including coordination, travel
arrangements, and on-site support. You must be able to travel to
the Summit in Brussels for up to 3 days, expenses paid (11-13
October 2026).
- Assist the MFRR team in gathering and editing content, and in
the publication of a report based on MFRR Summit activities and
discussions.
- Support communications activities, including drafting updates,
preparing event materials, and assisting with social media, largely
in relation to and as a follow-up to the MFRR Summit as well as
other planned events.
- Help manage reimbursement processes and track budget expenses
for MFRR events and activities; support the MFRR team in external
communications with journalists, media experts, and
policy-makers.
- Support project reporting and documentation for internal and
donor requirements.
Your profile
- You are interested in journalism, media freedom, and human
rights.
- You are studying in a field such as journalism, human rights
studies, political sciences, European studies, communications and
media studies, history, or another related field.
- You are fluent in English and have excellent communication
skills, both oral and written.
- You have experience in event organisation, including logistics
and budget tracking.
- You are well-organised, detail-oriented, and proactive, with
the ability to work independently and in a team.
- You have intercultural sensitivity and enjoy working with
people from diverse backgrounds.
- You are comfortable reaching out to contacts by phone or email
and can follow up effectively.
- You are creative, adaptable, and a fast learner.
- You are ready to travel in October.
- You are currently:
a) Enrolled at a German University or University of Applied
Sciences, or
b) In between your Bachelor's and/or Master's studies.

About the project:
Media Freedom Rapid Response (MFRR) is a
Europe-wide mechanism, which tracks, monitors and reacts to
violations of press and media freedom in EU Member States and
Candidate Countries. This project provides legal support, public
advocacy and information to protect journalists and media
workers.
