Fostering strong education systems is crucial to achieve a care society. 🤝🌍 📢 This week, our Programme Officer on the Right to Education, Juana Barragán, advocated for free public education during the working group discussions on a 4th Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The intervention sought to ensure: 🔹 The explicit recognition of early childhood care and education 🔹 At least one year of free public pre-primary education 🔹 Free public secondary education for all 💡 These commitments can only be realised through strong, well-financed public systems that foster Education as a right and a public good.
