COMESA Orientation Programme | 7–8 May 2026 | Lusaka, Zambia. The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) held its Orientation Programme on 7–8 May 2026 at the Seat of the Secretariat in Lusaka, Zambia. The programme brought together newly engaged and existing staff members for a comprehensive introduction to COMESA’s mandate, values, and operational framework. The Orientation featured key keynote addresses from senior leadership, including the Secretary General (SG) HE Chileshe M. Kapwepwe, the Assistant Secretary General Budget and Administration, Dr. Dev Haman and Assistant Secretary General, Programmes, Ambassador Dr. M. Kadah, and the Director of Legal Affairs, providing strategic insights into COMESA’s regional integration agenda and institutional priorities. The programme was coordinated by the Director of Human Resources and Administration, ensuring smooth facilitation and alignment with institutional onboarding standards. The Secretary General reaffirmed COMESA’s commitment to building a high-performing, values-driven, and future-ready institution capable of delivering on its regional integration mandate. She emphasized that COMESA’s strength lies in its people, and that professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and innovation are essential in translating policy into impactful results for Member States.
