Landscape Report on Food Security and Healthy Diets in Latin America and the Caribbean

Together with INCAP, we launched today the Landscape Report on Food Security and Healthy Diets in Latin America and the Caribbean, an urgent call to rethink how we produce, access, and consume food across the region. The evidence is clear: poor quality diets persist, gender gaps in food insecurity remain, and urban challenges are growing. A region that leads the world in fruit and vegetable exports simultaneously faces difficulties in ensuring its own population can access healthy diets. This report applies the FAO/WHO framework of four healthy diet principles to show how nutrition, food systems, gender equity, and public policy are connected. The findings make clear that working together across these areas is essential to ensure nutritious food is available, affordable, accessible for all.
