Comprehensive Sexuality Education within the Safeguard Young People Programme

The video discusses comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) as a critical part of the Safeguard Young People Program, the flagship youth program of UNFPA for East and Southern Africa. The Safeguard Young People Program works to achieve the following: - Foster multisectoral partnerships with governments, young people, civil society partners, parents, community leaders, and other UN agencies. - Build capacities to design, deliver, and monitor more effective CSE programs. Advocate for a conducive legal and policy environment for universal access to CSE to ensure all young people are included. - Work towards institutionalizing CSE in national systems, including the formal education sector and community-based settings, since about half of the region's young people are not in school.
