Fire hose is a critical tool for fighting wildfires across the country. As demand for fire hose grows, so do the logistical challenges of rolling it up for transport. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service identified this problem and the National Technology and Development Program worked with an industry partner to develop a better fire hose roller. The new hose roller represents a major improvement over previous models, saving time and improving safety for the crews who use them.
