From Participant to Mentor: Marina Vasylieva's Barrier-Free Journey

Marina Vasylieva — a landscape designer, urbanist, and mentor of the Barrier-Free Routes School 2025 — shares how she unexpectedly joined the Universal Design School 2024 as a participant and, just a year later, was already supporting teams working on barrier-free routes. Today, the project Marina contributed to as a student is already being implemented. The routes developed by the teams in Poltava and Opishnia, which she supported as a mentor, were included in the Barrier-Free Routes School 2025 Almanac — a collection of solutions created by participants as part of the programme. UNDP supports the development of barrier-free solutions in communities with financial support from the Government of Japan. Video: Svoye Kino / UNDP in Ukraine
