CGAP recently published a report on the regulation of innovation, which highlights how national policymakers can leverage innovation to create inclusive financial systems, supporting the ongoing shift toward a more digital world. The report introduces the concept of ‘vision-guided regulation’—an approach that helps financial sector regulators harness innovation for inclusive finance. This approach is centered on five key elements: (i) vision, (ii) tone at the top, (iii) innovation culture, (iv) industry engagement, and (v) mandate.
