Given a triangle on a coordinate plane and a base that is neither horizontal nor vertical, let's find the equation of the line that contains the altitude of the triangle relative to that base. We can use the fact that the slope of the altitude is perpendicular to the slope of the base. That means the two slopes are opposite reciprocals of each other.
